Linh Vu
PhD Student @ Columbia University
New York, NY
Hello! My name is Linh and I’m a second-year PhD student at Columbia University. I work with Yutian Wu at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory researching Arctic climate, sea ice, and polar amplification by analyzing large ensemble climate and reanalysis data in Python.
Before starting my PhD, I got my Bachelor’s at the University of Washington with a double-major in Atmospheric Sciences and Earth & Space Sciences. I was fortunate enough to work alongside Professor Cecilia Bitz, Dr. Robin Clancy, and Professor TJ Fudge on all sorts of topics; such as cyclones, sea ice, and ice cores. In addition, I interned at NASA and the National Weather Service and got to dabble in operational meteorology and exoplantary climate modelling.
In my spare time, I love thinking about food (cooking, growing, finding), riding bikes, climbing, and backpacking (wilderness and travel). If you want to learn more, you can explore my website by clicking on the menu in the top left corner.
Please feel free to reach out! I love talking about ice, exoplanents, and the newest releases in R&B/soul/funk.
